You may or may not have heard that Instagram is changing their terms of service so that they basically own you and your creative content, to sell and distribute how they see fit without compensating users.
Basically, a photo you take and upload to Instagram could be sold by them to say Coke for $10k and you wouldn’t see a penny, or maybe they will sell your photo along with a thousand other photos of people drinking Coke for $2mil and you won’t see a penny.
Facebook has already been doing this, but in a little less of a screw you kind of way. I mean, most people don’t think about the fact that when they “like” something on Facebook, an ad is being generated that says, “Chuck McCarthy liked Coke. Don’t you want to smile?” What Facebook is doing is similar to a concept I came up with a few years ago called Micro Spokespeople. Most people don’t care. I mean, there is very little effort put into “liking” something on Facebook, and if it helps pay the bills and keep Facebook running, fine.
Most of us understand that revenue has to be generated somewhere for these companies to keep providing essentially free products, but what Facebook/Instagram is now doing is an overstep.
I don’t think everyone is going to stop using Instagram, but I think a majority of the design oriented people that helped build Instagram’s popularity and that produce all the interesting content… all the professional and semi professional photographers… all the actors and models… all those people are going to stop… or… or…
We can just put a dick filter on all our pictures!
I bet if we all make sure there are penises in every picture uploaded to Instagram, we can cock block their plans to sell our photos.

dancing down the city lights leaving all the memories inside there is no turning back keep my head up try to hold it tight dancing down the city lights leaving all the memories inside there is no turning back keep my head up try to hold it tight

i dressed in formal hoping for something new i saw a star came close to the universe do i need to wish no?, cause i know its over now
